Autumn Photoshoot @ James Street, Brisbane

Now that Autumn's here we wanted to bring you a new range of looks for the season.

Our key goal with this photo shoot was to communicate our style and vision to you through our fashion. We choose our clothes with the aim of bringing you that beachy, easy to wear fashion that flatters your body shape and is effortlessly stylish.

Here's an insight into what happened in the process of our shoot and the progress of the day.

Firstly we were super lucky to see the sun shining as we arrived at James Street. The clouds kept at bay and the sky was the perfect blue. Only thing was that we struggled to photograph with the harsh sunlight.

After a couple rounds of James Street and its surroundings we found three beautiful settings where the light was just right and we had enough space to take our shots. Our first spot was right by Harvey's.

First up was this gorgeous silk kaftan in the blue marine print. We love this garment because it gives you that holiday feeling when you wear it. From that vibrant ocean blue to the luxurious silk, and the marine print, this number makes you feel oh so glamorous.

Then off we went, to our next location, moving around with our mobile wardrobe.

Next on the agenda was a shot of one of our best sellers, the Cotton Beach Neck-Tie Sun Dress in the Green/Pink Floral. This dress seems is such a hot item because it's super comfortable, feminine and flattering to wear. The dress can be worn tied or left loose with a v-neck that shows that slight hint of skin, but not too low to show cleavage. It even has a back tie that can be left open if you want the skirt to just flow over your stomach or tied to cinch the waist and give you more shape.

But just before moving onto our next location we took a second to look up and saw these adorable little Christmas beetles hanging on the trees above us.

To finish up the day we walked over to this hidden space with the most amazing street art. We wanted to showcase it in our shot because we love colour and thought it'd be a great backdrop for one of our more simple outfits.

Our last piece was the Firefly Liezel Cotton Embroidered Dress in Cherry. The embroidery around the chest flows onto the skirt and contrasts beautifully from the dress with a light grey thread. It has a gathered pleat waist that creates a flare skirt which falls perfectly over the hips. And our favourite part are the side pockets. The concealed neck and long sleeves are perfect for Winter. It can styled with a pair of tights and some boots and you're good to go.

We're so excited to show you the final products of the shoot. In the meantime, keep an eye on our website for the new Autumn and Winter stock, coming soon!

WHAT ARE YOU PACKING FOR YOUR EASTER HOLIDAY?

If you’re going away for the Easter break, you need to prepare for what the weather might be like, the activities you might get up to and the places you might be going.

HOW TO PACK FOR THE WEATHER
Image

In March it’s hard to tell whether the weather will be cold, hot, rainy, sunny, so you need a wardrobe that is easily adapted to the circumstances.
We recommend, bring a long sleeve cotton tunic. If it’s hot you can roll up the sleeves and wear it with a pair of shorts, if it’s cold you can throw on a cardigan and a pair of tights. And if it’s cotton, it’s breathable, light and easy to pack. Just simply twist it up and there’s no need to iron because it can be worn crushed.

ImageA sarong is also a great idea because if you’re headed to the beach, it’s a great sun and swim cover up, and if it gets a bit windy or chilly it can be worn as a scarf.

ImageYou’ll also need a nice beach dress that’s easy to wear and functional if you’re going to be really active. Pack something that’s loose and flowy around the body but fitted around the chest so it won’t drop as you bend over. Something like a trapeze shaped maxi dress would be ideal.

HOW TO PACK FOR ACTIVITIES

Don’t forget to make your own fun as well. Bring a couple of board games or a deck of cards to keep yourselves entertained if you’re stuck inside because of rain.

ImageIf you’re planning to go out for a nice dinner, don’t forget a nice outfit to make the night special. A silk kaftan will dress you up and keep you in that holiday mode.

So, to all the people off on the Easter Break, stay safe and have an amazing time!
